Oh, the joy of simplicity. Life has been quite hectic recently with the big move to Denver, getting a new job, starting a new business (www.etsy.com/shop/confettielove), etc. Today I needed to create something simplistic to ease the chaos in my life right now. Simple lines, shapes and color bring to life a beautiful harmonic form. This piece was created by painting a piece of wire blue and and another piece yellow. I then formed the wire into the shape of a vintage camera. I love the shapes of cameras. Rectangles, squares and circles. This piece is quite simple, but quite intriguing. The wire gives the camera shape a 3-dimensional form as it sticks out from the paper. It gives it a more whimsical, cheery effect as well. The paint on the wire creates a fun and interesting texture that makes it more interactive to look at. And the plentiful white negative space brings solitude. I had a lot of fun creating this piece and plan on creating more like it. I will call my series in this style "Wired."
Love it. This is so awesome!
